Skillet Apples with Brown Butter
|
Serves 4 · 20 minutes
You'll need
| • |
4 firm apples, sliced thick |
| • |
4 tbsp butter |
| • |
3 tbsp brown sugar |
| • |
1 tsp cinnamon and a pinch of salt |
| • |
A squeeze of lemon |
| • |
Vanilla ice cream, to serve |
To make
| • |
Brown the butter in a wide skillet until it smells nutty |
| • |
Add apples in one layer. Leave 4 minutes to color. |
| • |
Stir in sugar, cinnamon, salt. Cook 8 minutes, until tender. |
| • |
Finish with lemon. Serve warm over ice cream. |
